Η Ελένη Σαββάκη είναι Ομότιμη Καθηγήτρια Ιατρικής στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κρήτης και expert contractor για κρίση ερευνητικών προγραμμάτων στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση. Σπούδασε Ιατρική και μετεκπαιδεύτηκε με υποτροφίες επί 10 χρόνια: στο Columbia University και στο National Institutes of Health των ΗΠΑ, στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Γλασκώβης, και στο Collège de France στο Παρίσι. Η έρευνά της σχετίζεται με την λειτουργία του Εγκεφάλου. Έχει λάβει περισσότερες από 20 ανταγωνιστικές χρηματοδοτήσεις από Ευρωπαϊκούς και Διεθνείς Οργανισμούς. Έχει δημοσιεύσει περισσότερα από 70 άρθρα σε διεθνή Νευροεπιστημονικά peer-reviewed περιοδικά, μεταξύ των οποίων Science και Nature. Η Ελένη Σαββάκη είναι επίσης Ιδρυτικό Μέλος της Διεθνούς Επιτροπής Γερμανικού Χρέους προς την Ελλάδα (International Committee of the German Debts to Greece), Μέλος του Εθνικού Συμβουλίου Διεκδίκησης των Οφειλών της Γερμανίας προς την Ελλάδα (ΕΣΔΟΓΕ) και Μέλος του Εθνικού Συμβουλίου του Ελληνοκαναδικού Κογκρέσου (National Council of the Canadian Hellenic Congress). She studied medicine in Athens, Greece, and worked abroad at Columbia University in NY, the National Institutes of Health in Washington, DC, the University of Glasgow, and the Collège de France for 10 years. Her research is related to brain function. She has received more than 20 competitive grants from European and International Organizations. She has published more than 70 articles in international neuroscientific peer-reviewed journals, including Science and Nature. Her research work has more than 4,000 citations in the international bibliography. Helen Savaki is also a Founding Member of the International Committee of the German Debts to Greece, a Member of the Greek National Council for War-Reparation Claims against Germany, and a Member of the National Council of the Canadian Hellenic Congress. She has produced videos on the German atrocities during World War II and the resulting German Debts towards Greece, in Greek and in English (http://chcnews.org/germandebts). She has published relevant articles and has given speeches on the suffering of Greece during the German occupation and the resulting German Obligations, in several high schools and villages in Crete.
