Tony Emsen is a Belgian, born and raised in Istanbul. He studied as a chemical engineer and held positions of responsibility in European companies, working in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. Later on, he created his management consulting and sales company. Divided We Live is his first attempt at writing fiction. His interest in contemporary Greek history was the motivation for writing this novel. Before that he has written and self-published his autobiography, Erant Ergo Sum (They Were Therefore I Am). He speaks six languages and has translated Greek books into English, his mother tongue. He is married to Angela Emsen, herself a published author and commutes happily between Belgium and Greece.
