A school project becomes an opportunity for the beginning of a beautiful adventure for Gregory and his friends. The search for information about some forgotten dramatic events that took place in 1878 will lead them to a fascinating excursion into the Pierian Mountains. There, under a steep rock of Galaktos, they will find an unexpected treasure. Not a treasure of financial value but mainly of historical and emotional value.
The Treasure of Galaktos is a journey through the unknown paths of Greek history. The heroism and self-abnegation of seven Vlach women, who defied the hordes of the fierce Ottomans and sacrificed themselves for their ideals and honour, are illuminated through the eyes of the children. A heroic page from a long-suffering Greek history which should get out of the darkness of oblivion into the light of the truth.
